2年生は11月27日(水)6限に音楽講堂でMITACUP代表戦を開催しました。

MITACUPとは英語の授業の中で共通の題材を与えられ、その題材について一人ひとりが

パワーポイントも活用して英語でプレゼンテーションをして、

各クラスから代表1名が選出され、代表戦で優勝者が決まるイベントです。

三田高校では毎年1，2年生で開催され今年度の題材は「人間はなぜ学ぶことが必要なのか？」でした。

多角的な視点から各自が学びの意義について掘り下げており、見せ方にも工夫がみられました。

以下に今年度の優勝者の原稿を載せます。

Learning makes us human.
I have a question I want us to answer together.
Living in this society, what is one thing you can’t live without?
What is one thing, almost all of you have now?
We have smartphones.
So today, I’ll tell you the power of learning, using the example of smartphones.
Do you know the reason why smartphones were invented?
Firstly, let's take a quick peek at the phone in 19th century, especially, on battlefields.
(Music)
That was a close call…I saved myself. oh no, where are my teammates?!
I’ve lost them! But it’s fine, I have this walkie -talkie! Hey, this is 01, can you hear me?
Oh no, it doesn’t work because it’s too far from another device!
I wish I could communicate even at a long distance!

So, what we can learn from the lost soldiers?
In the 19th century, due to the World War and the Industrial Revolution, People needed to take prompt action for long-distance communication. Although people invented the walkie talkie, it didn’t work at a distance of more than 10 km.
Due to the discovery of these issues in communication, people started trying to improve it, and eventually, smartphones were created. And now we can communicate anytime anywhere in one second in our hands, thanks to our advancements.

Thus, innovation by learning has evolved our society.
We created a world that would have been unimaginable to people who used walkie-talkies.
Learning has infinite potential.
It enables us to turn I wish into I will, and eventually into I did.
This is the power of learning.
Find the problem, like with walk-talkies, improve it and repeat it again and again.
We never stop this process of learning for as long as we live as human beings.
(We are learning, developing. That is why, we are alive.)
