駐日パラオ共和国大使館 訪問 Embassy of the Republic of Palao

　令和5年6月5日（月）、駐日パラオ共和国大使館を訪問した。特命全権大使であるピーター・アデルバイ氏、公使参事官であるクリスチャン・エピソン・ニコレスク氏、上席事務官である小田麻実氏とお会いし、本校の取組やパラオでの現状、両国における社会課題、未来に向けての展望など、また、教育システムについても情報交換を行い、お互いのアイディアについて相互理解を図ることができた。それにより、今後の本校でのスタディツアーを含む外部機関との連携についての計画が一歩前進する良い機会となった。

　今後も引き続き駐日パラオ共和国大使館との連携を密にし、来年度の外交関係樹立30周年をきっかけとして、日本人とパラオとの関係性を深める機会としていきたいと考えている。

　パラオ共和国は、第二言語が英語であり、観光業が国の唯一の資源となっており、生活様式や言語、島国である日本との共通点も多く見受けられる。本校として今後現地視察を行いPCC（パラオ・コミュニティ・カレッジ）の訪問や教育大臣との面会なども実現し、実りあるスタディツアーの構築に向けて動いていきたい。そして、生徒たちが活躍できるきっかけづくり,活躍の場となることを願っている。

On Monday, June 5, 2023, We visited the Embassy of the Republic of Palau in Japan. We met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr. Peter Adelbai, Minister Counselor Mr. Christian Etpison Nicolescu, and Senior Secretary Ms. Asami Oda, and talked about our school's efforts, the current situation in Palau, social issues in both countries, and the future. We also exchanged information on the prospects for the future and the education system, and were able to achieve mutual understanding of each other's ideas. As a result, it was a good opportunity to take a step forward in planning for cooperation with external institutions, including future study tours at our school.

We will continue to work closely with the Embassy of the Republic of Palau in Japan, and we would like to use the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to deepen the relationship between Japanese people and Palau.

The second language of the Republic of Palau is English, and the tourism industry is the country's only resource, so there are many commonalities between the lifestyle, language, and island nation of Japan. We would like to conduct on-site inspections in the future, visit PCC (Palau Community College), meet with the Minister of Education, etc., and work towards building a fruitful study tour. We hope that it will be an opportunity for students to be active.
