【FESS部】TEP-CUP 英語プレゼンコンテスト 第3位！

令和５年３月２０日　東京都教育委員会主催　TEP-CUP（東京都高等学校英語プレゼンテーションコンテスト）の本選に出場し、第３位（審査委員会賞）を受賞しました。

今年度のテーマは「東京の魅力発信」で、その中でも本校では特に「東京都のSDGs」について取り上げました。

11月頃にビデオ審査による予選を行い、私立を含む東京の高校による100チーム以上の応募の中、上位８チームに選抜され、本選出場を果たしました。

文化祭が終わり、９月頃から準備を少しずつ始め、修学旅行がある中、プレゼンについてたくさん議論をしました。また本選出場の通知を受け取ってからは、英語合宿や合唱大会、定期考査等、行事や日々の学業に励みつつ、忙しい時間の隙間を見つけては学校や自宅で遅くまで準備を重ねました。

本大会は、今年度が初の大会であり、前例がなく方向性を定めることに苦労しました。しかし要項をよく読み、テーマをよく理解し、相手に伝えることに注力しました。高校生の視点から革新的なアイデアを出すことも重要視し、審査員からも評価をいただきました。

以下、プレゼンテーションの要約と出場生徒４名のコメントです。

【Summary】

The reason why we select the topic “SDGs” is that even though Tokyo has been doing many unique activities, people don’t know anything about them. Since SDGs is the project which requires a vast amount of funds and technical resources, the advanced activities of Tokyo might be evaluated and known to by wide generations. It will be an opportunity to know the actual activities of Tokyo and be interested in them. To achieve this goal, we propose two things, making changes in education to spread the fact to young generations, utilizing public transportation ads. 

We believe that by raising awareness of the SDGs among Tokyo residents, we can expect changes in the behavior of each individual in their daily lives. Furthermore, we will communicate from Tokyo and exchange opinions on SDGs initiatives in other regions, By providing feedback, we can hope that this awareness will be conveyed throughout Japan. We also strongly believe that these activities will spread from Tokyo to Japan and the world, protecting the earth's environment and improving the lives of people in the future. 

【要約】

SDGsについて提案した理由は、東京は素晴らしい取り組みをしている一方、その知名度が低いと感じたからです。SDGsは世界的な活動のため、東京の進んだ技術と資金力を活かすことができます。身近な事でも認知度が低い活動を提案することは、人々の興味を引き付け、周知を促す機会となります。そこで、未来の中心を担う若者への教育の変革と、幅広い世代への情報提供が可能な公共交通機関の広告を活用することを提案します。   

東京都民のSDGsに対する意識が高まる事で、生活における各個人の行動の変化が期待できると思います。 さらに、東京から発信し、他の地域のSDGsの取り組みにおける意見交換や、 フィードバックをする事で、日本全体にその意識が伝わっていくと期待できます。 また、その活動が東京から日本、そして、世界に広がり、地球の環境を守る事になり、未来の人々の生活向上に繋がるものと強く思います。 

 

【Student comment】

①Creating a good presentation with our members who have their each own opinions was a very tough job for me, but it was a very meaningful experience in determining my future direction.

②My experience at TEP-CUP has allowed me to feel the power that high school students have to change society. I’d like to continue to think for myself, have my own opinions, and share them with others.

③At this TEP-CUP, I had a valuable experience and had a fulfilling day. I learned a lot through everyone's presentations, and I hope to further improve my skills.

④It was my first experience that made me very confident in my skills. I cannot appreciate my teammates and teachers more, who supported us until late time. Without their support, I think we couldn’t have achieved the rewards.
