トリニダード・トバゴ共和国についての展示

トリニダード・トバゴ共和国出身のJETの先生が、母国に関する展示をしてくれました。

トリニダード・トバゴ発祥の打楽器「スティールパン」やトリニダード・トバゴに生息する動物など

興味深い展示がたくさん見られます。

なかでも毎年､キリスト教の四旬節直前の月・火曜日に行われるトリニダード・トバゴ・カーニバルは

世界三大カーニバルの１つでもあり、展示も華やかです。

カーニバルで身に着ける羽根飾りの中には、触ったり背負ったりしていいものも！

さっそく羽根飾りを体験し、記念撮影していた生徒もいました。

Although Carnival/Mardi Gras celebrations can be found in many countries that were previously under European colonial rule, Trinbagonians* refer to our rendition of the festival as ‘‘The Greatest Show on Earth’’ and ‘‘The Mecca of All Carinvals’’. We are proud of our multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society, and we are happy to share it with others so that they too can revel in it. ( * ‘Trinbagonians’ is a combination of ‘Trinidadians’ and ‘Tobagonians’)

The items used for the display were bought from an organizer of ‘Soca in Japan’, a series of events where you can experience Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival culture right here in Tokyo, Japan.

カーニバルあるいはマルディグラの祝祭は、かつてヨーロッパの植民地支配下にあった多くの国々で見られますが、トリンバゴ人（トリニダード・トバゴの人々）は自国の祭りを「地球上で最も壮大なショー」かつ「全てのカーニバルの聖地」と呼んでいます。私たちは多文化・多民族社会を誇りに思い、他の人々にもその喜びを分かち合ってもらえることを嬉しく思っています。

展示に使用された品々は、「ソカ・イン・ジャパン」の主催者から購入したものです。これは東京でトリニダード・トバゴのカーニバル文化を体験できる一連のイベントです。
