東京都立小石川中等教育学校（旧ホームページ）

10月1日（水）シートン高校の生徒たちが本校に到着しました。

Fourteen students and three staff from Seaton High School arrived at Koishikawa S.E.S. on October 1st.

Seaton高校のJane副校長先生から記念品が渡されました。

The vice principal of Seaton High School gave some gifts from Australia to Koishikawa.

本校から徒歩で数分にある六義園に、シートン生たちを案内しました。日本庭園の散歩を楽しみながら、シートン生と小石川生は次第に打ち解けていきました。

Koishikawa students took Seaton students to Rikugien Japanese garden park near our school.

六義園での江戸太神楽

Japanese traditional street performance.

都民の日だったため、特別上演中の江戸太神楽を観ることができました。

Luckily, they could enjoy watching traditional Japanese street performance in the park.  

ホストファミリーと対面し、いよいよホームステイの開始です。

Host families met and welcomed Seaton students at school.

10月2日（木）

2日目は、剣道の特別レッスンから始まりました。日本文化の一つとしての剣道の体験です。みな真剣な面持ちです。

Seaton students took a Japanese martial art Kendo lesson. Everyone was dressed in the traditional Japanese Kendo clothing.

防具を身に付け竹刀を持ち、相手を決めての練習です。

They wore protective gear and used a bamboo sword.

短時間の練習にもかかわらず、熱心によく取り組んでいました。

In spite of a short lesson, they seemed to work hard and might even start practicing Kendo in Australia.

 プレゼンテーション後、小グループになって自己紹介や意見交換をして、友好を深めました。

After the presentation, they got into groups and interacted with each other.

 午後、本校生徒と一緒に授業に参加しました。

10月2日（木）

Seaton students took a calligraphy lesson.

 本校華道部講師による華道特別レッスン 

シートンの生徒たちが、お礼にオーストラリアの絵本を題材にした短い劇を披露してくれました。

In order to express their appreciation, Seaton students performed a short drama for us.

小石川生はシートン生によるオーストラリアクイズに挑戦し、大いに盛り上がりました。

Finally, Koishikawa students were challenged with an Australian quiz. It was one of the highest points of the party.

ホストファミリーの小石川生は「カントリーロード」を歌いました。また、有志のメンバーがアカペラで「勝手にシンドバッド」を歌ってくれました。最後には会場にいる全員で一緒に「赤とんぼ」を歌いました。

Koishikawa students sang "Country road" and a Japanese pop song, and finally, we sang "Red Dragonfly" all together in the hall.

ホストファミリーの小石川生とバディのシートン生たちです。短い時間でしたが、ホストファミリーとは、強い絆が生まれました。

They established strong bonds with their host families, even though the stay was so short.

今回のホームステイプログラムにご協力いただいたホストファミリーの皆様および協力してくれた小石川生のみなさん、どうもありがとうございました。

本校の生徒とシートン高校の生徒たちはこの交流を通して、お互いにたくさんのことを学びました。今後も交流は続くことでしょう。シートン校の皆さん、また会う日まで、お元気で。
