My Travels in the United States
 
              As I said before I am from California in the United States. However the USA has fifty in total and around 30% of Americans will never leave the state they were born in. I have been lucky and have visited eight other states: Pennsylvania, Virginia, Massachusetts, New York, Tennessee, Washington, and Hawaii. I visited these states either for school trips or family vacations.
 
             During my third year of high school, I went on my school’s “East Coast Trip” where we visited Pennsylvania, Virginia, Massachusetts, and New York. These state are very important to American history. On this trip we visited historical sites such as the where the Constitution was signed and we followed the famous path of Paul Revere, who warned villages about a secret attack from the British. In Virginia, which has the capital of Washington DC, we visited the Smithsonian, which contains 19 museums, but we only went to five. Also in DC we saw many famous monuments and the location of Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Then in New York we had tours of the Statue of Liberty and the Headquarters of the United Nations. Often New York is the most popular tourist location for the east coast but so many states there hold importance to America’s history.
 
              I have also traveled to other states on vacations with my family. We have gone to New York, Tennessee, Washington, and Hawaii. When I went to New York with my family we spent more time in the city to enjoy shopping in Time Square and watching shows on Broadway. As for Tennessee and Washington we just went to visit family. However, it was really interesting in Washington since we got to see the very first Starbucks Cafe. Finally I have also been to Hawaii. Hawaii is very beautiful and very relaxing. We often spend time on the beach but we also do some activities: zip-lining, scuba diving, hiking, and surfing. I hope to one day visit all the Hawaiian islands but so far I have only been on Kauai and Maui.
 
I really like to travel and there are still some states I want to visit such as Alaska, Arizona, and Florida. There is so much to do all over the United States and I hope you all can visit someday.
