Itabashi High School is a co-educational public senior high school in Tokyo. It was founded in 1928 and is proud of its long history over 85 years. It has approximately 800 students and 60 staff. It is located in a quiet area in Itabashi-ward, rich in greenery and also close to the center of Tokyo.
Itabashi High School provides a balanced comprehensive education for the purpose of developing students’ ability to help them to achieve self-actualization. It also provides students with various opportunities to develop their individualities such as club activities and a variety of school events including school excursion and school festival.

School History
1928
Itabashi-Choritsu Girls’ School of Home Economy (Jikka Koto Jogakko) founded on the site of an elementary school (Itabashi Jinjo Koto Shogakko)
1930
The number of the first graduates was 19
1936
Moved to another elementary school (No.9 Elementary School currently in Sakae-cho, Itabashi-ward)
1946
Renamed Tokyo Metropolitan Itabashi Girls’ School (Koto Jogakko)
1948
Renamed Tokyo Metropolitan Itabashi Senior High School (Koto Gakko) and also started an evening course Moved to the new school building in the current place
1949
Became co-educational
1959
Separated its evening course, which became independent as the evening course of Tokyo Metropolitan Oyama Senior High School
1961
Part of the current school building completed
2008
Ceremony of the 80th anniversary of foundation held
2018
The new school building will be completed
